Do Spam Comments Make Your Day?

As you all may know, I own several blogs, all of which receive several spam messages day, ranging from 2 to even 200 on a bad day, depending on how much traffic I receive. In general this pisses me off. I guess that’s the same as most people. But sometimes on the very rare occasion I find they make me chuckle and put me in a good mood.

This morning whilst drinking my coffee and eating my scrumptious apricot jam on toast I decided to moderate some comments, approving good ones, editing some minor things such as people leaving legitimate comments but calling themselves “Sheffield SEO Services” (these plonkers think this will improve their Google rankings – it doesn’t!), permanently deleting spam comments, and approving those that were in their by accident (it does sometimes happen unfortunately!).

Anyway, the point of this post is to share one of these spam comments with you, as I found it pretty funny:

Funny Spam Message

This is definitely the best spam comment I’ve seen in a while, and put a smile on my face on this bright Thursday morning. Can you believe it’s Thursday already? Damn!

Callumatops Dino Mates Money Jar

My mum randomly popped round earlier to say hi – she was avoiding going home so she didn’t need to do the housework! She brought me an unexpected and rather cool gift – I wish more things had my name printed on them, would I get more unexpected gifts that way?! ;)

It’s called a Dino  Mates Money Jar, this particular version is a Callumatops (alt spelling: CALUM-a-TOPS) – that’s me as a dinosaur! It’s pretty awesome so I thought I’d share it. It already has a nice little space on my office window sill along with my (small) collection of various vinyl toys. Thanks mum!

I have an Apple iPhone 4!

Been a while since I posted here – I haven’t had all that much to share – and what I have had to share, I haven’t really had the time to be posting about it with the work I have been doing for DesignGiveaways and TheInspirationBlog!

I feel this is worth sharing, though! ;)

Me, @BenjaminReid and @nmyers89 headed to the Apple Store in Grand Arcade, Cambridge (UK) today to get our hands on the new iPhone 4. Luckily we had all reserved one, so we were guaranteed to leave the store with a shiny new phone in our hands. We queued for approximately two and a half hours, which actually felt a lot quicker! It’s all good practice for our trip to Thorpe Park next month!

As we were being served, we found out that only six iPhones were left in stock for the general public, of which about a million of them were queuing up outside – unlucky! We were also asked by some really crazy man if this queue (the one we were in) was for Starbucks coffee… was he serious?!

Anyway, I’m back at home now and took a quick photo to share with you all! Feel free to head over to Flickr and leave a comment. ;) I’m now wondering if I should buy one of those bumpers for it to help protect it a little. Would need to hold one first to make sure I like it before spending a ridiculous amount on a piece of plasticy rubber! Over and out!
